About

DSC05103

My husband and I are very passionate travelers looking out to explore new places. Our passion for travel has begun from our early days of travel as kids with our families.

We put in quite an effort in the preparation for our vacation. It begins with researching the countries to visit, prioritising the cities and attractions, and learning a bit of history behind them. Since most of the trips are once in our lifetime, we work on squeezing in most possible attractions into the itinerary.

Then is the lengthiest part where we spend our time on finalizing the tickets, booking the accommodation, local tours if needed. We neither travel budget nor luxury. As we both are passionate about food, we never miss to try the local delicacies. Since I am a vegetarian, the first thing we learn is to request for vegetarian food in the local language and a list of vegetarian food that can be eaten in those countries.

The idea of this blog was hatched when we realized we were spending a lot of time into research and wanted to share our tips, advices and experiences. Though we are not writers or photographers, we try our best to keep you informed and entertained.

Hope our blog is helpful!!!!!!

Hi there, thanks for following my blog. Looks like we share the same passion… I’m following you back! I love the poem that has inspired your blog name. There are so many interpretations of the meaning, but for me the most beautiful part is the last two lines 🙂

    Hello …

I was recently ‘told off’ by a blogger (not a follower I might add), who said my style of ‘welcome’ note was very much against blogging etiquette. Hmm, well I hope not to cause offence, but as you volunteered to become a follower of Uncle Spike’s Adventures, I just wanted to catch up and say “thank you, and that I appreciate your ‘follow’ as there are so many interesting and entertaining blogs out there.

Blogging since June 2013, my aim is to deliver an eclectic offering of posts, from my ‘point n shoot’ attempts at basic photography, to the sharing of my travel adventures over the decades, as well as day to day happenings here on our farm in Turkey. Oh, plus a few observations, opinions and lighter-hearted stuff thrown in for good measure.

I normally keep to a couple of posts a day, maybe 3-4 at weekends if I have something special to share. But if you are at a loose end one day, maybe you’ll enjoy trawling through some of my older stuff too. I have added plenty of categories to help in said digging process. That’s not me trying to be pushy or ‘spamming’, but just want you to know what I’m all about.

Thanks again and hope you have a great day…
